No, we’re not expecting. But there is a new addition in our family. Let me introduce you.
A couple of days after C’s due date, before his birth day, this little guy showed up in our backyard.
We had just finished decorating C’s room with owls and somehow, in a moment when I was feeling really discouraged, this owl was a sign that my little owl was on his way. When I posted the photos of the owl I even had a few close friends and family comment that it was like a gift from God, telling us he was coming soon. So for us, owls have always been a significant representation of C.
So in honor of his firstborn, Alex got this tattoo. I’ll be honest, I’m not the hugest fan of tats (sounds so h-core), but when he told me what he wanted to get and why, how could I resist? Now I just need to get one (just kidding. gotcha dad!)
Aren’t they just like to peas in a pod?
Another cool thing about owls is they represent wisdom and I pray every day that our son will “grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52).
Other than that big news, we had a quiet weekend at the cabin with some friends. We enjoyed walks in the sun-sparkling snow, good food, play time, crackling fires and blasting across the frozen lake on snowmobiles.
I hope you had a restful weekend too!0
