An Open Door

We moved into our renovated house last week Tuesday.  Its been a whirlwind of dust, paint, people, boxes and excitement. I feel totally blessed that we have this amazing house to live in and even more amazing people in our life to fill it with.

My hero and mentor, Grandma Wiebe often whispers words of wisdom at unexpected moments and I take those words and treasure them.  Recently she said “don’t ever close your home to anyone”.  She herself has lived those words, often opening her home to family, friends and foreigners in need.  One of the things I’m most excited about with this new home is being able to practice hospitality.  We actually have space to entertain and share this awesome blessing with others.  I’m excited for dinners around this table

and having friends, family and foreigners sit around this island chatting with me as I cook.

I’m excited to use this blessing to be a blessing to others.  A place of peace and rest and love.  Our door is open.

3 John 1:8 “We ought therefore to show hospitality to such men so that we may work together for the truth.”
