Clothed with Joy

“You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth

and clothed me with joy.” Psalm 30:11

In these last few days before Christmas I’ve been thinking a lot about joy.  I love this verse because it demonstrates the miracle of Christ’s coming – the drastic change He brings when He comes in our lives.  He takes our sorrow, our mourning, our sadness, removes them from us and clothes us in His joy!

Are you “wearing” His joy this season or have you been walking around in a dowdy outfit of sadness?  Whatever your situation or circumstance, know that He wants to turn your mourning into dancing – if you’ll just let Him.

  1. Lovin’ the stripes and mix of black with brown! Great boots too!

I’d love it if you’d stop by and play along with a fun little fashion game I have going on right now called Thrifted or Grifted!

  2. Joy is something I think we all think about at Christmas time, but I definitely need to open my heart more the rest of the year and find rest in the joy of the Lord. It’s easy to let my day-to-day stresses take over and neglect the simple joy that God provides. Good post.
P.S. Does that scarf have scalloped edges? It’s so pretty. Love the color!
