“There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
All over the internet articles about New Year’s Resolutions are popping up. People are pulling out their blank journals and pretty pens, thinking, praying, planning and writing their goals for 2015. But what if we’re missing something, right from the start? What if there was a way to set goals and intentions for the year that fit with the season of life we were currently in, so we could really maximize our time and not end the year with disappointment over unmet expectations?
Understanding the season of life we are in is essential if we want to be fruitful in every season. If we don’t understand our season, we often become anxious or discontent about where we’re at and slip into the trap of striving or surviving rather than thriving.
But how do we define which season we’re in? And once we figure it out, how do we embrace that season so we can experience the fruitfulness God has in store for us?
That’s exactly what I’m hoping we can figure out together. Join me over the next few weeks as we explore what it looks like to dream seasonally. To figure out how we can maximize the harvest in our current time of life, rather than wishing for one that is still coming.
Remember that there are things God wants to teach us in this season that are absolutely necessary to prepare us for what’s next! As tempting as it can be to rush on through, let’s not miss out on what God has for us in the here and now.1
