California, here we come!

Pv-1 copy

Alex and I are so excited to share the news that our family is moving to Redding California this September for 9 months! This move came as a surprise to many, but the truth is we’ve been talking and praying about the possibility since October 2014. Our first conversation about the idea went something like this:

“Heather, if you could do anything next, what would it be?

“I’d want to go to Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry.”

“Well that’s never gonna happen.”

“Ya, I know.”

A few weeks later Alex and I were talking  and he said, “You know that idea you had, to go to Bethel? I think we should try and make that work!”

Ever since then we’ve been talking and praying and planning and praying some more. Each step of the way we’ve felt the Lord confirm this next step, for me as I pursue my call to speaking and writing, and for us as a family as we seek to serve God in all we do.

Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry (BSSM) is “committed to the truth that God loves people, gave Himself for them and has given His Church supernatural power to bring individuals and nations into wholeness. The mission of BSSM is to equip and deploy revivalists who passionately pursue world-wide transformation in their God-given spheres of influence. Students are trained to continue in the ministry style of Jesus: to enjoy the presence of God, say what He is saying, and do what He is doing.”

This is the heart of BSSM and it completely echoes the cry of my heart. I’ve been ministering as a speaker for the past ten years (can you believe it’s been that long? or that I’m that old??), and feel strongly that it’s time to get some more training and equipping for the next season of ministry. What drew me to BSSM over any other program was the combination of biblical teaching and experiential learning. It doesn’t hurt that it’s in California either.

We are writing to both give you an update and to ask for your prayers as we embark on this adventure. We so value the support of our family and friends and know we wouldn’t be able to take a risk like this without your love  and prayers backing us up.

Here are a few things you can pray for specifically:

– That the details of our move will go smoothly. There are a lot of things we need to sort out before leaving and we want the transition to be as seamless as possible.

– For Cohen and Claire to feel safe and secure, even with all the change they’ll be experiencing. Cohen will be attending preschool at Bethel Christian School (M,W,F mornings) so please pray he has fun, and makes friends easily.

– That Alex will have the strength and energy to manage his business from afar and be a stay at home dad. We’re so excited that the kids will get this quality time with their daddy.

– For Heather to be able to balance studying (classes on Mon-Thurs from 10:30-3:30), being a mom, and figuring out what life will look like when Alex is away for work.

-Most of all, please pray that each of us has a powerful encounter with the presence of God that changes us for the rest of our lives. We greatly anticipate the work He will do.

Thank you again for your love and support. You can continue to follow along with our journey here on my blog. I’ll be updating it regularly after we move.

Big love to you!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14I will be found by you,” declares the Lord,
